We will have wildflower touring maps, a historic homes and gardens tour, wildflower photography workshop, a farmer's market with food & product vendors, arts and crafts, live musical entertainment and fun activities for the whole family, all in a relaxing Hill Country setting. Not to be missed! This event is part of the year-long Blanco County Sesquicentennial celebration.

Go on a great driving excursion to view beautiful Texas wildflowers! Where are the best blooms?

Bluebonnets & Indian Paintbrushes abound in Texas.
Bluebonnets, the State Flower, mix beautifully with Indian Paintbrushes to color the landscape!

Floral wonderlands abound within Texas – in formal gardens and along highways and country roads. Many of the events listed below feature the Texas State Flower, the Texas Bluebonnet.

 

DALLAS BLOOMS

The Southwest’s largest annual outdoor floral festival “Dallas Blooms” at the Dallas Arboretum.      Call 214-515-6500

Their web site also contains links to garden clubs in Dallas County, Tarrant County, Collin County, and Denton County.
NACOGDOCHES AZALEA TRAIL

Tour 22 miles of self-guided driving routes into March. Jazzy Jonquil Trail of Blooms, Nacogdoches Azalea Trail.  Call 888-653-3788 or 888-oldest-town.

Nacogdoches is near both the Angelina National Forest and the Davy Crockett National Forest.
TYLER AZALEA TRAIL

Eight miles of trails lead to gardens covered with azaleas, tulips, dogwood and wisteria on the Azalea Trail March.  Call 800-235-5712.

Tyler State Park is also located nearby.
HILL COUNTRY WILDFLOWER TRAIL

Ten communities combine from mid-March into April for multiple events that showcase bluebonnets and other Texas wildflowers.   Call 866-839-3378.

Texas Hill Counties include Blanco, Brady, Burnet, Early, Fredericksburg, Goldthwaite, Johnson City, Lampasas, Llano, Mason, and San Saba.
WILDFLOWERS DAYS (AUSTIN)

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center’s annual festival.

Four of Texas great State Parks are near Austin: Bastrop State Park, Lockhart State Park, Blanco State Park, and Pedernales Falls State Park.
BLUEBONNET TRAILS (ENNIS)

Explore 40 miles of mapped Texas wildflower trails. The annual Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival.     Call 972-878-4748.

Ennis is located in Ellis County, just south of Dallas.
WASHINGTON COUNTY

The Official Bluebonnet Festival of Texas is in April in Chappell Hill.

Located in South Central Texas 50 miles NW of Houston on Hwy. 290.
FORT WORTH BOTANIC GARDEN

The spring festival is in April in the Japanese Garden     Call 817-871-7686.

This garden is in Tarrant County, just west of Dallas.
SAN ANTONIO BOTANICAL GARDEN

Several spring events are planned. Texas Native Trail .

Located in Bexar County in the Texas Hill Country.
